With this piece I aimed to have the idea of a waterfall carving its way through the carpeted mountains. The Kootenay forest, the inland rainforest. How at ease do we feel when the landscape it dripping with moisture, after last summer, 2021. When the mist is wicking its way up the hill side.

It feels amazing. Our faces wet with it. Precip.

An ode to water through the spring, summer and fall. I wanted this to be a warm piece, it has a nice colour to it, I wanted it to feel humid somehow through green.

I love mist because it adds so much depth to a landscape. Water all around us and combing its way through every branch, trunk and cedar scale. Its invigorating and I hope to convey that energy in this piece.

The original has sold, I Painted this summer with Golden acrylics on a large 30" x 40" canvas.

It is nowhere in particular, I just went for it. The picture of me holding it is the 30" x 40" size. The printers dont offer a 24"x32" for mat for the medium size so I cropped it a bit to fit into the 24x30" option.

Its a lovely piece, I hope you like it and want to look into it everyday.

Beautiful printed Canvas availible in a few different sizes.

Answering my Unanswered Prayers

Blame it all on my roots, I showed up in boots
And ruined your black-tie affair
The last one to know, the last one to show
I was the last one you thought you’d see there
And I saw the surprise and the fear in his eyes
When I took his glass of champagne
And I toasted you, said, “Honey, we may be through
But you’ll never hear me complain.”

Cause I’ve got art of mountain spaces
Done by the wonderful Branda Avis
Got it today
Made me feel okay,

Yeah I love these forested places
Put my Monet down in the basement
Now that I’ve got art
By Branda Avis.
