A realistic endeavor meets a washed out abstracted peripheral.

I tried to have this stay loose, with big strokes of colour as well as the ultra controlled detail in the main trees. Fall is so incredible because of the radiant glow of these trees, they are so yellow / golden / orange / sienna / electric with the sun. This fall I decided to tackle these as well as start adding more colour to my work. Nature repeating itself again, me an animal playing with the colors I see.

Larches in San Francisco

I think about the immense natural beauty of the Kootenay’s often now that I live in a big city. Branda’s paintings transport me back to a special chapter in my life. Her fine detail and use of colour captures the uniqueness of every tree and my favourite time of year, Fall in the Kootenay’s.
