The Sound - Framed Canvas Print

The Sound of Silence.

An enveloping view of a ridge at dusk. The viewer is meant to feel like the bird, floating in the quiet cool of another day coming to an end. My work is meant to be calm and this for me is just that. Calming with the memory of a storm scared into the ridge in a wind crusted top layer. I can hear the quiet when I look into this, the low rumble of nothing.

Creamy periwinkle snow in the bowl, the one tone color beckons you in. To become a silhouette inside the cold perfect snow. This color. There is so much purple in snow. After doing this piece I am convinced purple is the color of winter.

Winter, such a powerful place.

I worked on this in November 2025, acrylic. It was a challenge for me to work with the wind scoured snow and getting the colors faded correctly. At the last minute I decided to add some alpine glow to the tips of the peaks as well as a gold brushing on the clouds and mist. It made it sing.
